Kilmartin Glen Stones

[Kilmartin Stones]

Kilmartin Glen's historical sites include a fascinating selection of sculptured stones, stone circles and standing stones, in addition to its impressive burial cairns and rock carvings (covered by separate posts). The stones listed below are incorporated into a half-day walk starting at the stones in Kilmartin graveyard. The walk is the best way to understand the sites in context with the others - for example, the standing stones at Nether Largie are deliberately aligned with most of the cairns - but if you want to rest your legs you can park close by each of them.
