Inveresk Lodge Garden

[Inveresk Lodge & Garden]

The tranquil oasis of Inveresk Lodge Garden lies close to the east end of the Edinburgh City Bypass on the southern side of Musselburgh. The National Trust for Scotland claim the garden has a warm micro-climate, enhancing the riot of colour displayed by the borders, lawns and meadow through the summer months, and no doubt welcomed by the birds in the small aviary. The 17th century adjoining house provides a picturesque backdrop: it's not open to visitors, but Newhailes is a couple of miles away if you need to get your mansion fix.
