Kintyre's west coast

[Gigha and the Paps of Jura seen from A' Chleit beach, just north of Muasdale]

In contrast to the rest of Scotland, Kintyre's flattest ground is on its west coast. The scenery is less intricate here than on the eastern side, instead featuring some long, sandy bays with uninterrupted views of Gigha, Islay and Jura. These beaches practically cry out for exploration, preferably on a day when the peninsula isn't being battered by a stormy southwesterly - when it might be better to have a look around Glenbarr Abbey.
