Corrimony Chambered Cairn

[Corrimony Chambered Cairn]

The area around Cannich is best known for its natural wonders - Glen Affric on one side, Loch Ness on the other. No less interesting is a 4,000 year-old chambered cairn, constructed during the Bronze Age and surrounded by 11 standing stones. You can still crawl into the central chamber, thought to have been the resting place of a high profile female. A little off the beaten track but easily worth a few minutes of your precious time on the way to see Nessie.
