[Loch Harport at Carbost]

A rare outpost of civilisation in this part of Skye, Carbost is the largest settlement on Minginish. The village occupies an idyllic spot on gently curving Loch Harport, with attractive waterfalls on the Carbost Burn just above. The water comes from the same source (Cnoc nan Speireag) as the one feeding Talisker Distillery. The distillery is the reason most people visit this area - booking almost essential during high season.
