Duntrune Garden

[Duntrune Garden]

The area around Kilmartin, Argyll is famous for its ancient monuments, but gardens? We hadn't heard of Duntrune Garden (or indeed, the private castle to which it belongs) until recently, but the well-tended lawns and flowerbeds are worth a visit after you've finished poking around the neolithic tombs. This walled garden was created by the Campbells centuries ago, with the current layout attributable to the Malcolm family. You'll almost certainly be the only ones there - perhaps apart from the excitable, resident dog which insisted on giving us a thorough tour.
