Venture out from central Perth and you'll find pockets of attractive green space on three sides. On the east side, just across the River Tay, is Rodney Gardens. Even on our September this compact park dazzled us with its colourful flower displays, though roses add another dimension earlier in the summer. The area is only one part of a longer sculpture trail running in a ribbons along both banks of Scotland's longest river; check it out if you have a couple of hours to spare.
