Hawick Museum

[Hawick Museum]

Hawick Museum is located in Wilton Lodge: the 18th century mansion at the centre of Wilton Lodge Park, Hawick. Part museum and part art gallery, this is a sizeable museum which makes a decent stab at capturing the history of the largest town in the Scottish Borders. Local bikers, wildlife, wartime exhibitions and local trades are all on display here, though Hawick's knitwear industry is better described in the nearby Borders Textile Towerhouse. The museum is open all year but hours are curtailed during low season, so check the website (linked below) for opening times before visiting.
