East Dunbartonshire / Stirling | Milngavie | Park | ★★★
 |
[Craigend Pond, Mugdock Country Park] |
Mugdock Country Park straddles the border between well-heeled Dunbartonshire and the more rural county of Stirling. There's more than enough to spend a good few hours here: despite being within easy reach of
Glasgow, this varied green space has a proper countryside feel, with lochs and burns, moorland, fields, crags and a couple of ruined castles (one much more interesting then the other). Adventure playgrounds, BBQ areas, bike hire, orienteering courses and a visitor centre with cafe make it a fun family destination; paths also link up with the West Highland Way and the village of Strathblane for those seeking something more strenuous.
