[RRS Discovery with the V&A Dundee behind]

Discovery Point is the umbrella term used to describe both Dundee's fantastic museum about the city's connections with Antarctic exploration, and the RRS Discovery - the ship which carried Robert Falcon Scott there in 1901-2. We think this is - just about - the city's best visitor attraction, though Verdant Works comes close. Start in the exhibition centre, where you learn about the history behind the ship, polar exploration and Scott himself, before stepping aboard the ship itself to imagine what life on board must have been like. The boat's recently been joined on the waterfront by the striking V&A Dundee; together, they make a compelling pair with enough to occupy the average visitor for a good few hours.
