The quiet Borders village of Duns is today best known for being the childhood home of racing driver Jim Clark: one of the world's most successful ever Formula 1 drivers, whose life was sadly cut short by an accident on the track in 1968. In 2019 the town's nod to the man expanded from the "Jim Clark Memorial Room" to the fully-fledged Jim Clark Motorsport Museum - and what a transformation! Racing cars, dozens of gleaming trophies, and stylish info panels recall Clark's life, achievements, personality and legacy, all presented in a way which should interest even those who don't have a passion for motorsport. It's still not a huge place, but it's excellent given the rural location.
